One man in China became an overnight internet celebrity after his pursuit of an iconic turned disastrous. The unlucky man got less than he bargained for after the barber shaved two triangles into his head. Perhaps a case of grave misunderstanding, the man walked into the barbershop with a head full of hair and a clear- concise idea of what hairstyle he wanted. To make it even easier for the stylist, he took along a video of the exact style he wanted the barber to carve off his hair.

We’ve all done it at some point though’ taking a picture of a celebrity with an amazing hairstyle with dashing hopes that the stylist will do their magic. Well, we end up coming out of the building looking nothing like them. However, no amount of disappointment can equate to what was written all over this man’s face.

Although the video was to give his barber an idea of how to trim his hair, it confused him more. What transpired in the shop could qualify for a hilarious comedy scene. Instead of taking a screenshot of the video to show his barber, the man paused the video. This meant that a large play symbol was instead plastered across the screen.

The barber wasn’t in the mood to ask questions or was rather confident with himself; he went all in and shaved both sides of his head with two triangles visibly emblazoned. The incident has since gone viral in China’s social media platform Weibo after it was posted by an influential entertainment blogger ‘Tian Xiu Bot’

Since it was first posted on 30th December, the video has amassed more than 20,000 comments and more than 78,000 likes. According to the video, the barber took one last look at the screenshot and asked the client if he wanted to keep the triangle.In a fit of confusion, the customer said yes, perhaps not understanding that the barber would literally shave the triangle symbol into his hair.
Hours after the post went viral, another video was uploaded by the same blogger showing that man in question quite pleased with his new look. Who wouldn’t? After all, it made him pretty famous.
