'My Husband Of 22 Years Cheated On Me, So I Slept With Eight Different Men In A Year'

Laura Friedman Williams never imagined that her life would ever change after she was married for 22 years and was at the age of 47. She was a mom-of-three who lives in an apartment in Manhattan and owns a country house with her husband.

Laura found out about the affair from her husband directly from the man himself and she didn't take long to throw the whole man out.

She recalled, "Our sex life wasn’t great anymore. There wasn’t really any passion between us."

However, that wasn't enough excuse for her to ever imagine ending the relationship like that. She continued, "I was 47 years old and I expected to be with the same man for the rest of my life."

Five months after splitting up, she began thinking for herself. With all those years lost for that one man who left, she decided to take them all back.

She got on Tinder and accepted blind dates. She told The New York Post, "You now have the freedom to do whatever you want. If you want to sleep with two men on the same day, you can. If you want to have a tryst in the middle of the day, you’re free. The only person who can judge you is yourself. And if you’re fine with it, screw everyone else."

That was how she began her wild, exciting, adventurous, one might even say, tryst with multiple men in a year.

And she tells all the story in the book "Available," a memoir about her heartbreak, divorce, and finally living the life she's missed.

Her straightforward jump into actions with men taught her those pillow talks are a great time to get answers one rarely gets. She would ask them, "What do you like about this? How do you feel about that? Because I missed out on knowing that. And I wanted to understand adult men."

She revealed that there were misses, too, such as when she realized she was back into a yesman who wasn't really thinking for herself.

"[The question was] do I feel like sleeping with you now?" she would ask herself. "And it’s a literal yes or no. I don’t really care about anything else. You don’t even have to be a good person. It doesn’t matter."

While some people think her age would be a drawback, Williams thought differently. No, she experienced it differently because she found how men were "attracted to the fact I was a strong woman" and for being the one "calling the shots."

She shared an example, "If I was having a good date and a man would kiss me goodbye, I would tell them, okay, I have two hours. Let’s go back to your place."

Is she now completely against committing to a relationship? Or is she still finding the one? William revealed that the chances aren't zero.

She shared, "I’ve gotten attached to someone. But I still hold out the openness to say, ‘If I wanted to have a one-night stand with someone, I could still do that.’"

Williams continued speaking highly of letting one drown in lust - with the right men! - post-breakup. She spoke, "The sex was important to me. It made me alive when I felt dead inside. I found strength that I didn’t know I had."

"And I also found openness and sexual curiosity that I didn’t ever in a million years imagine I was capable of."
