Elon Musk Says He Now Wants To Buy Coca-Cola And 'Put The Cocaine Back In'

Just days after Elon Musk bought the social network Twitter for $44billion, he revealed another of his next purchase through the platform. The billionaire has plans to buy Coca-Cola, and he even referenced a deep part of the drinks giant past – its original formula that contained cocaine in the form of an extract of the coca leaf.

The early recipe of Coca-Cola had included coca leaves, from which popular party drug cocaine is derived.

Equally, the early Coca-Cola bottles were believed to have contained 3.5milligrams of cocaine, an ingredient that remained present in the drink until it was removed by the company nine years later. So far, Musk’s intention has prompted responses, including one post which urged Elon “bring it back,” alongside a photo of what purports to be one of the first publicly sold Coca-Cola in 1894.

“Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in,” the Tesla’s Founder tweet read.

The SpaceX founder also traded jokes with a user who posted a doctored tweet alongside his profile picture, “Now I’m going to buy McDonald's and fix all the ice cream machines.” The billionaire entrepreneur replied: “Listen, I can’t do miracles, ok.” His followers joined in on his joke, with a few asking him to buy other companies to bring back their favorite TV shows or products.

While the Elon’s coke joke is currently trending, he gave a follow-up which states: “Beats the hell out of Red Bull!”

Musk seemed to be enjoying his time ownership status of Twitter and had earlier tweeted about his plans to encrypt direct messages and make them politically neutral. However, his takeover has prompted many to announce their intention to leave the platform, and some expressed concern that simple content controls could result in more hate speech.
