The comedian's take on HBO has been welcomed by many who had disagreed with Will Smith's slap over Chris Rock's joke at Jada's alopecia. Bill Maher's show on HBO downplayed the situation with his panelists, including attorney Laura Coates and Andrew Yang, the former mayoral candidate for New York City.
The 36-year-old said, "If you are so lucky in life as to have that be your medical problem, just say 'thank God.'"

"I mean, alopecia, it's not leukemia, OK?" he snickered. "Alopecia is when your hair falls out, there are worst things."
"It's not life-threatening. It's part of -- for most people, 80 percent of men, 50 percent of women -- it's part of aging. Aging is, trust me, I know; it's the degradation of the flesh. It happens to all of us."
Jada's hair has been falling out due to alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that attacks hair follicles, which is not the same as androgenic alopecia, which is the type of alopecia commonly associated with the word 'balding'.

This disorder affects more men than women, although still considered a common one. Chris Rock had, apparently, told Jada that he's expecting her in 'G.I. Jane 2' which starred Demi Moore, who sported shaved hair. Will Smith stomped off to slap the man after Jada rolled her eyes at the joke. But Bill doesn't think the joke was as severe as the 53-year-old thought and said, "You know, just put on a f***ing wig like everybody else at the Oscars if it bothers you so much."

He also proceeded to say he "blames toxic feminity" after a viral video shows Jada laughing as Smith walked back from the stage after the slap."Look, I'm not here to humiliate Will Smith. He gets enough of that at home," the comedian had said, but just before that, he'd launched an April Fool's jab at him.
"Thank you all for coming and putting on a brave face. I know we're all processing what happened at the Oscars," he told the crowd. "And I just want to say to Will Smith, look, I got your back, bro, stay strong."
He then paused and added, "April Fools. You're a d**k."
He continued, "Every single person in America this entire week was talking about the sucker punch heard 'round the world. So that whole 'Keep my wife's name out of your mouth' didn't really work out."
"Who would have thought the movie coming out of the Oscars with all the buzz was 'GI Jane'," he added.
Smith has announced his resignation from the Academy Awards not long after apologizing to the comedian publicly.
Insiders have also revealed that production executives are halting projects with Smith to wait and see the upcoming result of the proceeding by the board of executives from the Academy Awards on his case.
