Will Smith is one major headline at the 2022 Oscars. Not only did the 53-Year-Old win award for Best Actor, but he also slapped comedian Chris Rock during the ceremony. It’s was an unscripted moment that went down in the history of the 94th Academy Awards.
Rock had made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, prompting a furious reaction from the King Richard actor.
And as he returned to his seat, he shouted at the comedian twice to “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.” The altercation left both the audience at the event and viewers watching in disbelief. It was clear that Smith was affected by what had happened and how he reacted and was eventually consoled by Denzel Washington, Bradley Cooper, and even Tyler Perry during a commercial break.

As he collected his award, Smith was seen in tears and revealed what Denzel told him: “He just said to me, ‘at your highest moment, that’s when the devil comes for you.”

Denzel had even gone on to comfort Jada and stayed at her by side even when the break ended. In a clip shared on Twitter, Tyler and Denzel were both seen dusting Will’s shoulders, seemingly telling him to brush off the situation. The Nightmare Alley actor then pulled Smith in for two hugs before they parted ways as a voiceover declared the break was coming to an end.

As he walked to his seat, Smith appeared to be wiping away his tears as she dabbed his eyes with a tissue. He reportedly spoke to his rep before taking his seat next to Jada, with Denzel crouched beside her with his arms around her shoulders. However, the actor seemed to be in high spirits at Vanity Fair’s official after-party.
