Charlene Farnsworth is a fitness maniac in great shape. Her lean body leads many fellow women at the gym to ask her about her routine or if she works as a fitness model. What's even more amazing is that Charlene is 52 years old now! The Canadian talks about her life now as someone who's constantly assumed as a model by people who never even know her because of her looks and body.
The Ontario-based grandmother-of-one loves showing off her body on her social media, a result of her intense bodybuilding work.
Charlene works out six days a week and enjoys bodybuilding the most. The mother-of-two has been married for 22 years and has a flock of young admirers. She's never short of receiving compliments from people who are impressed of her feats.
"People often tell me that I look younger than my age but I’m pretty sure it's just because of my body," Charlene addresses those compliments. "I’m not the shy girl I use to be because I feel good in my skin."
"When I'm in the gym I have my headphones on and I am super focused on my workout. But I do get people approach me. They ask whether I'm a fitness model or if I'm training for something specifically."
She's also been inspiring fellow gymgoers, "Women at the gym are great, and they often compliment me. They will tell me that I have the perfect body and ask how I do it. A few have even said they hope to get the results I've managed to achieve."
Her popularity among youngsters, especially males, has not been a major issue in her marriage.
In fact, she has her husband to thank for giving her the full support in her weightlifting journey. Charlene who's currently studying to earn her personal training license credits her husband in motivating and pushing her forward.
"My husband is extremely proud of my accomplishments," she proudly stated. "He loves the fact that I’ve become so fit and confident. He deals with the admirers very well, knowing that he is the one that gets to go through life by my side."
"When I was less confident, I would worry that I wasn’t good enough, not that my husband ever made me feel that way, it was my own issue."
She added, "Now that I feel so good in my own skin, I never doubt myself. I definitely feel sexier naked now."
Her workout schedule is intense, involving at least two hours of weightlifting every day, up to three, with about 20-30 minutes of cardio a couple of times every week. In addition, she also has three leg days and three upper-body days.
Unfortunately, she may have to tone down her workout soon due to an injury.
She explained, "I lift heavy as much as possible, although I have developed an injury in my right shoulder and elbow which has, unfortunately, started to affect my heavy lifting."
"I would say weightlifting is the best way to stay fit and lean."
But Charlene still maintains a strict diet. For breakfast, she has oatmeal with protein powder, lean beef with rice for lunch, and then another dose of protein powder with 12-grain french toast.
