In 2020, Nicolette Popa told her husband, Ryan, she was attracted solely to women six years after they married. Instead of getting embroiled in a hostile spirit, the duo still lives together and are co-parenting their two children, Clay, 4, and Jace, 5. “We are still married, and we still live together in our house with our kids. For right now, what we do works. We’re trying to figure out our careers and trying to make sure that our kids have the best outcome,” Nicolette, who works as a delivery driver, revealed.

She had revealed her unusual parenting set-up on TikTok and has even been applauded by other lesbians in straight marriages for demonstrating how to co-parent successfully. The couple's families fully support their decision to remain married, although some online trolls seem not to have it, blasting Nicolette for wasting Ryan’s time.
Nicolette knew she was a lesbian but kept her sexuality a secret from her hubby until 2020.
After coming out, Ryan suggested Nicolette stay with him for the sake of their children, and she agreed.
She added: “Ryan’s often gone, so he doesn’t get to see the kids often. I’m trying to figure out my new career while raising our kids. We’re prioritizing family life over the dating side of things. It’s about making sure the kids are happy, making sure they know they’re loved, and for them to have both parents around as much as possible. Me and Ryan have maintained this friendship; he’ll always be my best friend.”

Nicolette said they had gotten married when she was 19, and he was 20. They’ve been together basically through all of their 20s, and Ryan is that person she has been around constantly.
