Ariana, a TikTok user with 48.8k followers, shares how she's had no luck in making a good friend. While she admits to having "pretty privilege", to her, it has also been plaguing her when it comes to making meaningful connections with others.
Ariana shares that she has been blessed with good looks and doesn't deny it. But that also means she faces women's jealousy more intensely than most.

"There's also a bad side that nobody talks about, and I'm going to talk about my experience as a woman."

"I don't have many girlfriends. And it's something I've struggled with for a long time, and I've never really understood why. College was truly the hardest point for me."
"Girls will always be like, 'Oh my gosh, I love you so much, you're so gorgeous.' We're going to hang out. And the time comes around, and I'm always left out and talked about poorly behind my back."
"And it never makes sense because I'm always being so kind, so genuine."

It has happened so many times, and she never understood why and she started asking what the hell was going on. Ariana still couldn't make good friends during her university years and recalled how she went home one time and cried to her mom about it.
"I would come home from college on the weekends because I'd have nothing to do, and I would cry to my mum because I didn't understand."
"They start telling me, 'Ari, people don't like to not be the prettiest person in the room'."

Her family explained that her appearance and beauty intimidate people. Since she was a young girl, however, Ariana thought everyone was amazing in their own way on top of her own insecurity.
"Anybody who's close to me knows I cry like once a month about how I think I'm ugly, so..." she gestures confusingly at the fact her family dropped on her.
She eventually made friends with a group of guys that she still cares about today, but she still years for friendships with female friends.

Years later, she still is not sure if that was all there is to it. Even today, she will hear complete strangers talk bad about her for no reason.
She continued, "I don't know what the other answer is other than that you saw me and you were mad and you had to open your mouth. I do nothing, I mind my business."
"It gets lonely because I'm tired of women thinking we're all in a competition. We're all beautiful, can we just all be friends?"
"People assume pretty people can't struggle with things or don't experience bad because they're pretty, but that's really not the case," she rests her case.

Many people commented how they relate a lot to her stories. One wrote, “As one of the non-pretty girls, I can tell you it’s simply because they are jealous. It may sound cliche but it’s true.”
“I’m so happy you made this video. I’ve struggled with this so much, friends who full-on try to tear me down as kind and humble as I’ve been to them,” wrote another.
