Artist’s 22 Snarky Illustrations Show How Contradictory Our Society Is

Anton Gudim has been drawing for as long as he can remember, and his ideas come from observing everyday life. Over the years, the Russian artist has since formed an absurd surrealistic style, looking at our world through its prism. His ongoing series titled YES, BUT comics initially emerged in 2016 and was inspired by reflections on how people get along with many contradictions in their lives.

Anton is undeniably a master of absurdity, irony, and interestingly dark humor. His illustrations also tend to capture the ridiculousness of modern society while making fun of something that we have accepted as usual. While he’s known chiefly for quirky short paneled comics, his YES, BUT series [a few compiled below] are unique, touching on topics like ecology, consumerism, people’s behavior, and are no less influential at a glance. Please have a look, and enjoy both its humor and irony.
