Irish illustrator Brian Coldrick has been amassing attention for his creepy comic series titled: ‘Behind You: One-Shot Horror Stories.’ The comics are spooky stylish and aren’t recommended to be read alone. Inspiration for the series sprung from Coldrick’s love for spooky stories, books, horror films, and each of the no panel drawings is beautiful yet haunting while depicting a monster hiding just in arm's reach. Partly birthed as an attempt to fight his laziness, each tale features one image and little text, especially something behind a character or an unsuspecting victim with a personality.

Ranging from hilarious, bizarre to pretty damn creepy, Coldrick’s photos quite have a charm that can’t be ignored. Interestingly, he uses a hand pencil to create his characters but mainly works with Photoshop to establish the backgrounds, including making the animations and adding texture. Rather than just an accurate tale, Coldrick’s stories are darker, like the anxieties, doubts, and loneliness that tend to emerge when no one else is around.
