Christmas is fast approaching, and it’s gradually becoming more and more festive. Every turns you take, everything is now designed in Xmas-themed, and of course, they look captivating. But then, why is Star Wars Yoda selling as a Christmas product? It’s apparent that Christmas inevitably gets its fair share of epic design fails. Besides, you’ll agree 25th December deserves some hilarious moments, mostly as the first and second quarter of 2020 were quite hellish due to the pandemic.
Some people have proven creative with their selling products and decorations, while others aren’t quite lucky. Decorating is a skill, so it’s not everyone on Planet Earth that can nail it. And when that happens, it tends to fail in the hilarious way possible. From a scary-looking, the Grinch product to red-eyed bears in a snow decoration, these ho-horrible designs and products are adequate to give a warm sense of schadenfreude. Because it’s gone all wrong doesn’t mean you can’t laugh-out-loud, hence have a look, and share with loved ones!

Santa Claus, who’s also known as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, originates from a kind figure during the 4th century. He gives gifts to good kids and was called Sinterklaas. After the Dutch bring their traditions to America, he was later called Santa Claus and earned his appearance in red in 1863. It was because his death as well as feast day fell on the same day close to Christmas that his figure became so closely tied to Christmas.

Between the Christmas tree and the history of the Christians, the former is actually older. A worshipping form towards evergreen and laurels was common in ancient Egpyt, China, and in Scandinavian customs, which was later passed on to Christianity. However, the familiar tree with the star we have today originates from western Germany.

The Bible itself never stated clearly if Jesus’ birthday indeed falls on Christmas. It was Sextus Julius Africanus in 221 who declares the date to be so, which also coincides with the “day of the birth of the unconquered sun” (dies Solis invicti nati), Roman’s popular holiday. Throughout thousands of years of celebration, one custom after another surrounding Christmas was formed.
