What should mothers post on Instagram and what kind of image should they maintain? If you have an answer to this question, you probably have a preconception and harbor prejudice towards those who don't conform to your standards. But hold up! We're not blaming you because that is normally how the human brain works. We expect mothers to post about their family and kids, at least once in a while more than themselves.
So, a journalist from a popular media outlet decided to give it a go. Krista Torres, a mother-of-one, decided to give it a go and it was perfect because she often worries about what people think of her on social media.
Chrissy Teigen is loved by man because she's not afraid to be herself and show that off to the world. Becoming a mother doesn't mean you can't love your body anymore!
She is always happy to share about her life and putting on only her own face, no one else's. She'd love to update her fans on her adorable babies, but will also post gorgeous pictures that tell the world being a woman is powerful.
It seems many mothers have felt this - you always get commented on how you should 'mother'. Chrissy opened up about it and she had people who keep judging about her, whatever she did."
So, Krista decided to give it a go - let's be a happy woman who loves herself and not afraid to show off. To make it easier, she tried to copy her favorite poses from Chrissy's.
Here's a picture of a couple of years ago when she copied Ariana Grande's neat ponytail and had professional pictures take of her. She loved them, but she was so scared of sharing them and wondered if they were 'mom safe'.
Her follower numbers is not big, but she dared herself anyway to see what happens.
Her first try was with the avocado swimsuit Chrissy did with her girl. She did it with her dog.

She didn't think holding her 11-year-old boy is a good idea, so she got Otameal the dog to be in the picture instead. She did them in her backyard where people can't see and felt safe about what she did.
An hour later, she noticed several people who enjoyed what she did and enjoyed the positive comments. She was nervous, but it boosted her confidence.

Next up, she got her white swimsuit on, something that was a little less revealing that Chrissy's.

She couldn't help but wonder what will people think of her pictures. What would mothers think about her, would they think she's trying to get men's attention?Surprise, surprise. Her swimsuit pictures made her lose 14 followers, from 1,374 to 1,360.

She lost about 1% of her followers, but for Chrissy that is equal to 284,000 people from her 28 million followers.
It was hard to not to think about how people stopped following you over a swimsuit picture. It got her wonder why, what were they thinking? What was their motivation? She also started to wonder that if it had been different if she was not a mother.
Anyway, MOVING ON...
She decided to go with a crazier set up with her husband, the one where it looks like they both had a hungover.

Yeah, her son think she looked ridiculous, which is the whole point of the shoot. She got her outfits from her friends as well. She didn't understand why celebrities do this, but instead of it being liked because of cool, celebrities' ridiculous posts like are liked because they were celebrities.
When she posted this one, she didn't get much of a reaction except for several emojis for support.
Here's her next challenge: the butt pic.
She added the caption, "Testing out the placement of my tattoo." And she was joking about it, but there were some people who took it seriously. One man commented that it was an 'asinine' spot for a tattoo.
Because Chrissy is an amazing cook, it was just right to post one with food.
This last one lost her eight more followers.
Her last one has her wrapped only in a towel and wearing heels. No, she doesn't normally does this and it's her hardest to nail.

Ulala, she lost 7 followers, but that was actually a total of 11 lost with 4 gained. Four of which consist of only guys.

Conclusion? People have predisposition towards women and mothers differently. They lay out different standards towards people depending on their role. Mothers, for example, are expected to post more family-worthy and 'decent' pictures. She also found out that her co-workers had posted pictures similar to celebrities and were getting positive reactions instead.
But there's also the fact to understand that people follow you for the consistent content you have. If you being to spam unusual pictures they find uncomfortable with or uninterested with, you're just a few clicks from being blocked or unfollowed.
But this helps her see that being on social media can be so powerful and dangerous at the same time.
And Chrissy teaches us that even if you lack butt, you shouldn't be too worried!
