A community on Reddit is outraged after a woman revealed she’s
no longer attracted to her boyfriend because he was raped at a young age. A 20-Year-Old
women took the ‘Am I The *sshole’ Subreddit to ask for opinions, regarding her
boyfriend, 24.
‘He’s tall, muscular, and blonde with blue eyeballs. He’s
quite dominant and works at a start-up doing marketing. He’s actually very
smart and funny. I like him.’ The woman said, admitting they’ve been dating for
5 months.

The women went on to reveal that their sex life has been
good, but about days ago, the boyfriend started having trouble with
performance.
‘I thought it was me at first. I asked him and he broke down
a bit before tearing up. He just started seeing a counselor about his childhood
experience. He told me he was raped at 11 by his stepbrother, multiple times at
that young age.’
‘The floored me up until this point he appeared so macho and
sort of like a tough guy. He’s confessing now to being raped by another man
while being in tears and holding me tightly.’ The woman continued.

FYI, opening up emotionally doesn’t, however, make a man
less tough or a macho.
She added: ‘I understand it’s horrible being a rape victim
but sincerely I don’t know if I could see him the same way again. I had this
image that’s shattered and each time I see him, I feel weird now. My friends
think I should try to keep dating him, but I am no longer attracted to him like
before. We are not broken up, but I am thinking of it.’

Reacting, Redditors couldn’t just let her have it. A user
commented saying: ‘You are the worst kind of person. He trusted you to have
open up about his past. You are human too and nobody can stop you from feeling
this way. He deserves much better than you – somebody who’s going to respect
him for him. Do him a favor and make up some stories about why you want to break up
with him.’

Another said: ‘Your image of him got shattered because he
was a victim of a traumatic experience. He was raped. I hope nobody ever has to
show you the urgently needed kindness your boyfriend needs right now.’
Other commenters also had it right, saying she needs to take
a good, long look at herself to figure out the main reason why she’s rejecting
him, adding that she also needs to apologize for being an ungrateful fellow.
