Kids are such beautiful stars that shine brightly when guided in the right way. As adults, we don't have the right to expect children who are supposed to be learning and playing to help with the problems our generation caused. But Obocho proves even if you're just an 11-year-old New Yorker, yes, there is something you can do for others. The world is still a beautiful place and there are still people, children even, who are fighting to keep it that way.
This is Obocho Peters, an 11-year-old boy from Brooklyn, New York. He's also the CEO of Obocho's Closet, a thrift store which purpose is to help low-income families.

Obocho's shop focuses on selling clothing, particularly baby and kid's clothing at affordable price. But more than that, the company aims to ultimately empowers the weak and poor by providing free financial literary seminars. By educating them in the financial section, it is hoped these families can further plan for their children's future as well as their own.
The majority of the clothing you can get in these shops are no more than $10. It all started when Obocho himself wanted the toy set from 'Avengers: Infinity War' but his mom could not afford them after paying the bills.
For his 11th birthday, he launched his first physical shop on 495 Flatbush Ave. and he can meet and greet his community directly there.

This idea was launched when his mother explained to him why she couldn't afford the toys that he wanted. It was him to initiated that he wanted to sell his unused clothing and shoes to buy his own toy.s It then hit him that there must be other families out there who suffer from the same issue like his.
Obocho also talks about his day to day life and it's really not that much different from other kids thanks to his mom. During the time he's at school until 2.40pm, it was his mom that takes care of the shop. She quit her job to help her son's venture. They'll be at the shop while Obocho does his homework and goes home at around 7-9 pm.
One thing Obocho never misses is to play with his toy every night! His mother ensures that he spends enough time being a kid and teaches him the importance of balancing his life.
The money from the thrift store goes to setting up workshops of literacy seminars that helps others learn 'about credit development, budgeting and other creative ways to save money' for future endeavors from going to college to becoming an entrepreneur.

Obocho also learns the hardships of setting up a business. While he is always making sure his clothes are withing the $10 price range, he finds it hard to find support from people. When they know he's a for-profit business model, many say they can't help.
That becomes a challenge to help keep him financially stable as well as doing free seminars and workshops to help others. But with his mother's help, he understands that he just needs to work even harder and started a GoFundMe page to keep his business running.
