Vegan Mom Left ‘Traumatized’ After Mistakenly Ate Three Bites Of KFC Chicken Burger

A vegan mother has been humiliated by KFC staff after she took three bites into her burger from one of the chains. The KFC staff who accidentally served her the burger laughed at her for doing so even though she had ordered for a vegan burger on their drive-thru. She realized something was wrong and went to the employees to remind them of it, but they just giggled and served her another unevenly cooked burger.

Vanessa Franco, a mother from South London, has been a vegetarian for years and had only recently gone total vegan. She initially noticed that the texture felt different. "I drove back to KFC and asked them to confirm it was a vegan burger. That's when the girl who served me told me it was a chicken fillet burger. She then called her colleague who told me to come inside."

Vanessa is not entertained when her vegan burger was accidentally swapped with real chicken fillet.

Instead of apologizing, "she also said if I took bites out of it then why didn't I notice it was a chicken burger. I explained I have been a vegetarian my whole life."

She had to go down per employee's request even though her baby was on the back seat. They woke up the manager, offered a free vegan burger "and laughed and said 'you should have known it was chicken."

She continued, "All of the staff stood there staring at me. I felt humiliated and have been left traumatized due to not only a lifestyle choice but also religion being broken and made fun of. I was speechless and can't express how disgusting their customer service was."

Later, KFC apologized for the disappointing service that took place in their branch of Colliers Wood.

A spokesperson from the mega fast-food company said, "This isn't great and we're really sorry for what happened here. Our vegan burger launched last month and we took its arrival seriously - putting strict new processes in place to make sure it's served properly, including the use of separate colored tongs and storage units.

"We're following up with the team to remind them of the importance of getting this right and will be offering the guest a free meal on us to put things right."
