Cops in Florida arrived at a
home to investigate after receiving reports of a woman screaming - only to find
the neighbor had mistaken the noise for a parrot talking.
The family heard something alarming coming from their neighbor’s house: what
sounded like a woman’s voice screaming for help. Fearing the worst, they called
the police to investigate.
The silly moment happened outside a couple's home in Lake Worth Beach while the husband was fixing his wife's car just before New Year's Eve.
Home security footage shows the husband calmly shifting through his toolbox as Rambo moans 'help' and 'let me out!'.Moments later, several officers arrived at the suspect’s house to find a much funnier explanation than the twisted crime scene they were prepared for.
The video shows the officers approaching a man calmly doing some mechanic work in his driveway. The deputies inform the man that a nearby neighbor reported hearing a woman's desperate screams from inside the home.
'I was changing the brakes on my wife's car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks,' the unidentified man said.
In response to their questioning, he just laughs, offers to show the cops the source of the screaming, and comes back a minute later with Rambo, his beloved yellow-naped Amazon parrot, perched on his hand.
The man told officers that he’s had the 40-year-old bird since childhood. He revealed that Rambo's startling yells are something he taught the bird as a child. With a bond like that, he must be so used to his feathered pet’s antics that he forgets that Rambo’s vocabulary might alarm some people.
'Sometimes Rambo yells "help, help, let me out". Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage,' the husband said.
The man quickly returns with Rambo resting on his hand as the deputies light up and laugh at the sight of the green bird.
We can’t blame the concerned neighbor for suspecting that something was seriously amiss and call the police, but thankfully, it was a harmless misunderstanding
