Idioms are fun and a rather clever way of conveying emotions, but what happens when you are not sure of their meanings? Keren Rosen (popular as Dings and Doodles) has found a way of playing around with the idioms, imagining the literal rather than the true meanings. The light-hearted project involves simple cartoon characters used to break down the meanings of each word in a bid to illustrate their individual definitions. The artist then combines the separate elements into a single fun composition.
The Tel-Aviv based artist has been illustrating for as long as she can remember as a product designer. Keren's illustrations enable her to converse complex ideas in simple ways appealing to both children and adults. Her fresh style includes humor combining both digital and handwork to create quite distinctive pieces.
