'John Wick 4' was already confirmed from way before 'John Wick 3' was even done playing in the theaters. Meanwhile, 'Matrix 4' was something that the original cast and writers had long been dreaming to work on. And for the past few months, the cast have been coming together, allowing Warner Bros. to come up with the release date.

It's May 21, 2021, the same date as to when 'John Wick 4' is also scheduled to be released.

This means that you can literally binge watch Keanu Reeves in a day, but it also means some have to choose between them.

Lionsgate was the first to call dibs on that date. 'Akira' live-action adaptaion is also getting pulled off as 'The Matrix 4' takes precedence.

Sounds like Keanu Reeves' golden moment isn't going to be over anytime soon.

May 2021 is also a month filled with many movies' releases, from Marvel's 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' that is set on May 7, 2021 to 'Spirit Riding Free' by Universal on May 14, 2021 and 'Cruella' by Disney on May 28.

In addition to the main cast, a new line of cast members are added. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is said to be playing a younger version of Laurence Fisbourne's Morpheus. Nail Patrick Harris will be a villain and Jessica Henwick, Toby Onwumere and Jonathan Groff will have unconfirmed roles. None of these rumors have been confirmed.

Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.

Lana and Lily Wachowski, the original siblings who wrote and directed Matrix trilogy will be back to direct and co-write the movie with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell from 'Sense8' appointed as the script writers.

The studio has also gave the release date for 'The Flash' on July 1, 2022.

Ezra Miller is returning as Barry Allen on this constantly pending project by DCEU. It was originally planned to be released on 2018, but with the completely reworked universe, it has been delayed for a lot longer than planned.
