Lion Cub Meets His Father For The First Time In Adorable 'Cubdate' Video

Cats are such peculiar creatures. They can be completely ignorant of you, but kittens and cubs are absolutely curious things. The yet-unnamed cub from Denver Zoo from a lioness named Neliah is still learning and exploring his very small cage. And just recently, the zoo let the cub meet his father for the first time.

Curious and tiny, the father lion crouches with his hand extended to reach for the cub and the video can be seen from Denver Zoo's official Facebook page uploaded on September 6, 2019. The cub's father is Tobias, a proud leader of the pride.

In one of Denver Zoo's cubdate, we see Tobias meets his son for the first time.

This yet unnamed cub is the offspring of Neliah with Tobias and is the third child of the litter.

The Zoo is now stuck in between naming him Meru, Moremi or Tatu.

Meru is the name of a mountain in Tanzania which also means spine in Sanskrit. Moremi is a protected game reserve site in Botswana which is located on the eastern side of the Okavango. It is named after Chief Moremi of the BaTawana tribe. Tatu means three in Swahili because he's Neliah's third offspring.

The cub was also seen with a female lion who's actually Kamara, his loving 4-year-old sister.

In a pride, the lionesses often care and nurse each other cubs. It's a big family where mothers help each other until the cubs reach a certain age.

Due to the dwindling number of African Lions, Denver Zoo has been posting these videos to help raise awareness.

In hope of successfully help raise funds for conservatories, the zoo is also planning for a debut for the yet unnamed cub to encourage people to show love towards this amazing big cat species.

They are also initiating 'Adopt An Animal' where visitors can adopt one of the 4,300 animals in the zoo and go home with a plush version of it!
