It was a pleasant surprise indeed.
Lyd had been struggling with the ticket machine as it doesn't want to let Lyd purchase a 2-hour ticket. Because of that, she decided to purchase two separate tickets at one pound and 60 cents.
Dealing with traffic wardens is not a pleasant experience, especially with the awful reputation they get. Nobody loves penalties and nobody loves the people who issue the penalties, which is mainly what traffic wardens do. So, this woman wants to get off the hook because it wasn't her fault perse. The machine was acting up.
"Good afternoon. Okay, this time I’ll give you :). It’s important you remember that should this happen in the future you MUST phone the number on the board next to the machine."
Truly the kind of traffic wardens we have been literally wishing for.

She left a note with her tickets attached to the front window that says, "I tried 2(to) pay for 2 hrs (hours), but didn't work. So, had to get 2 separate (tickets) @ (at) same time. Pls (Please) don't give me a ticket" And ends it with a sad emoticon. :(
Pls don't give me a ticket :(
She was likely not surprised to see that something was left on her car. The dreaded yellow ticket is here and she was close to cursing before she notices the note.

Have a good rest of the day
Lyd posted the short, pleasant story on her Twitter and added the caption: "Thanks for understanding x."
