To honor his late niece, Luke started Brett’s barn together with his wife, Caroline. It started out with a single pony but now the land surrounding their Nashville home is worth of animals. The family’s love for animals is apparent and lucky enough, they are able to add to their brood without much hassle.
Recently, Nashville animal shelter revealed that the singer and his family had adopted a very special dog. Proverbs 12:10 Animal rescue applied and took in an 18-year-old pooch who was surrendered to the shelter by its previous owner after experiencing an allergy to him. Poochie is now happy with his new family.
Luke and his wife Caroline are serious animal lovers that run Brett’s Barn at their home in Nashville. The farm was set up to honor their late niece, Sadie Brett Boyer.
The farm, now full with animals started with a single pony as Caroline explains, “After Brett passed away, I decided to keep a promise I made to her when she was about a month old… a white pony! We found the pony at a local animal rescue facility. Along with the white pony, we adopted another pony, goat, and pig.”
The family has since added a lot of animals in the mix. They even have chicken pecking at selfies.

A pair of kangaroos, Margo and Todd who joined the family on the Christmas eve of 2017.
The new addition to the diverse farm is 18-year old dog, Poochie who on arrival stole everyone’s heart.
Poochie was surrendered by his previous owner after the owner experienced an allergy to the dog. Because of Poochie’s advanced age, the animal rescue was ready to foster him and let him live his last year in comfort.
Proverbs 12:10 Animal rescue posted Poochie’s story on the internet and as luck would have it, Luke Bryan saw it.
Luke and Carolyne hurriedly filled out an application and it wasn’t long before Caroline was called to pick poochie from his foster mom.
Now Pooch is happily hanging out with his other family animals, such a sweet ending for the senior dog.
