Someone Started A Hilarious Petition To Sell Montana To Canada For $1 Trillion, Now Its Going Viral

Petitions have so much power, enough to change someone’s life or even the world. But most of us tend to laugh off someone who tries to rally signatures on social media. Truth be told, most of the petitions circulating around have ridiculous causes that are only meant for fun or don’t inspire much confidence.

We got to admit that some like Caroline Criado-Perez’s banknote petition and the infamous California Recall Election of 2003 took us by surprise when fingers moved across the keyboard to sign them. Only recently, an anonymous person created an appeal not to change the status quo but to give us a good laugh and we have to admit, it's picking up momentum among social media users.

Someone recently created a petition, urging people to sell Montana to Canada

The petition created on change.org is titled “sell Montana to Canada for $1 Trillion to eliminate the national debt”. The petition is thought to have seemingly originated on Reddit and has started gaining attention from internet users as they signed and left hilarious comments.

Summarizing their claim, the author of the claim said; “We have too much debt and Montana is useless. Just tell them it has beavers or something,”

Well, surprisingly, even the locals at Montana are excited, asking everyone to sign it. Emigrating to Canada is much easier with the moving costs eliminated.

Here are some of the backers’ funny comments under the petition
